OK, how was GROG born? Well, it all started many years back when we were all still studying. GROG’s roots come from a game called ‘KINGS’, the true origin of that game lost despite many attempted blurry and alcohol infused recollections. KINGS was basically a normal pack of playing cards in exactly the same format as GROG but the GROG card was the Kings card. Most of the cards’ actions have been altered slightly since those inebriated evenings of Kings, but the gist of the game remains unchanged – as does the final result of getting anyone who partakes having a lot of fun with many laughs.

As I can illustrate, I decided to convert the cards into the real thing, so I illustrated and manufactured the 52 card pack you see now online.

It is a fantastic game and once you've accustomed yourself to the rules, many hours of fun can be had. GROG is ideal as a pre-night out warmup or at barbecues. It's also great for house parties, and even pubs - as copious amounts of alcohol tend to be consumed rather quickly playing this mother of all drinking games.

Years of playing the game has shown us that all that is required for a new convert to the cult that is GROG is for them to play it. Never have we had negative feedback from participants and with every game, the devoted following of GROG continues to grow.
